FIRST DAY: ANCONA AIRPORT, PESARO

Arrival at Falconara Airport. Transfer by Porsche Macan to a 5 stars Design Hotel in Pesaro, birthplace of the great Composer Gioachino Rossini, set between the Colle Ardizio and Monte San Bartolo and overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

Dinner in the restaurant of the hotel. A fish–menu dinner will be served directly on the private beach of the hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.

SECOND DAY: PESARO – FANO – SENIGALLIA

After breakfast in hotel, time at leisure for relaxing in the Spa or in the beach of the hotel. After lunch, transfer to Fano, a Roman centre dating back to 2000 years ago. Guided tour of the historic centre, walking in its narrow side streets: the Gate – Arco d’Augusto – that the Emperor Augustus built in 2 AD at the entrance to the town, the Cathedral, erected in the 12th Century, the main square with the Fountain of Fortune dating back to the 17th century.

Return to Pesaro.

Opera soirée at Rossini Theatre. Guided visit to the backstage of the theater, where guests will enjoy the Demetrio e Polibio from the “Platea” (first rows). Overnight at the Hotel.

THIRD DAY: PESARO – URBINO

After breakfast in hotel, departure to the small hill town of UrbinoUNESCO World Heritage Site –  city of the Renaissance and birthplace of Rossini’s mother. Guided tour of its monumental Palazzo Ducale, which hosts at its intern the wonderful National Gallery of the Marche region, with one of the most important art collection of Italian Renaissance including wonderful paintings by Raffaello, Piero della Francesca, with his famous Flagellation of Christ, Paolo Uccello, Tiziano and Melozzo da Forlì. After lunch, guided visit to the Cathedral in neoclassical style, with paintings by Federico Barocci and to to Casa Natale di Raffaello, the birthhouse of the famous painter. Thematic Food & Wine tasting about Rossini in a winery, with explanation about Rossini’s recipes with cultural and historic references. Overnight at the Hotel.

FORTH DAY: PESARO

After breakfast in hotel, time at leisure for relaxing in the Spa or in the beach of the hotel.

Guided visit to Musei Civici and the Rossini’s birth house, where guests will enjoy a multisensorial experience: a multimedia visit with audio guided thematic food & wine tasting. Guests will visit Rossini’s house and enjoy the Rossini Gourmet; an exclusive experience matching taste and music, “guided by the voice and music of Rossini”, they will be introduced in the world of his favorite foods. Gioachino Rossino has been certainly the most gourmet among the composers: he created inedited recipes such as “The Rossini Fillet” and the “Guglielmo Tell” Cake!

Return to the hotel. Opera soirée at Vitrifrigo Arena, where guests will enjoy the Semiramide from the “Settore A” (Category A). Overnight at the Hotel.

FIFTH DAY: PESARO – URBANIA

After breakfast in hotel, departure to Urbania – which was an important place for Rossini – situated in the upper valley of the Metauro river, the ancient “Casteldurante”, which was a dominion of the dukes of Urbino, changed its name to Urbania in honour of pope Urban VIII.

Guided tour through its prestigious heritage: from the Ducal Palace to the Bramante theatre, the cathedral and diocesan museum, the Barco Ducale and the mummies’ cemetery.

Show-cooking dedicated to Rossini and lunch with Rossini’s recipes in a typical tavern placed in the historic center of Urbania.

Moreover Urbania was famous in the Renaissance for its particular ceramics and majolica.

Guided visit to a local pottery lab where a craftman will show and explain the techniques and secrets of the worldwide known Ceramiche Durantine (Pottery of Casteldurante). Return to Pesaro. Overnight at the Hotel.

SIXTH DAY: PESARO – GRADARA

After breakfast in hotel, transfer for a guided tour of Gradara, an enchanting Borgo, famous for its medieval fortress, which during the Middle Ages was one of the main theaters of clashes between militias loyal to the papacy and the turbulent families of Emilia Romagna and Marche areas. According to the legend, in this castle was born the dramatic love between Paolo and Francesca (wife of Gianciotto, Paolo’s Brother), which has been narrated by Dante in the fifth canto of Inferno of the Divine Comedy.

Proceed to a local farm, important for its own production of fresh and cured meat, and the special “Mora Romagnola”, a slow food presidium. They still work with a traditional respect of nature, growing their forage, as nourishment for their animals. At the end of the visit, guests will enjoy a tasting of different cured meat.

Return to Pesaro. Relax in hotel.

Concert soirée at Auditorium Pedrotti – part of the College of Music “Gioachino Rossini” – where guests will enjoy a Belcanto Concert. Overnight at the Hotel.

SEVENTH DAY: PESARO – SAN LEO – SAN MARINO – SENIGALLIA

After breakfast in hotel, transfer to San Leo, elected by the Telegraph among the 19 Italy’s most beautiful villages. Escorted tour of the San Leo’s fortress, looking down from its rocky ramparts on a quaint cobbled square flanked by a ninth-century parish church and Romanesque cathedral.

The rocca of San Leo is one of the most known and celebrated fortresses of the Montefeltro. Its fame is also due to the imprisonment of Giuseppe Balsamo known as Alessandro Conte of Cagliostro, who remained imprisoned there for more than four years, until his death, occurred in 1795.

Proceed to San Marino, UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008, thanks to the unique character of its history and institutional heritage: San Marino is one of the most ancient Republics in the world and the only existing City-State. Escorted visit of the main attractions of the city: the Three Towers, from which guests will enjoy the spectacular atmosphere and panorama, and the vertiginous cliffs; the Government House, the administrative centre of San Marino’s political life; the San Marino Basilica, the principal church dedicated to the holy founder of the Republic, whose relics are preserved under the altar. (The basilica is depicted on the San Marino ten-eurocent coin). Return to Pesaro. Relax in hotel.

Good-bye dinner in a two-starred Michelin restaurant in Senigallia, considered by Wall Street Journal one of the best European fish restaurant.

EIGHT DAY: PESARO – DEPARTURE

After breakfast in hotel, departure to the Airport.
