RECANATI AND THE PLACES OF THE YOUNG GIACOMO LEOPARDI
Step by step this itinerary retrace the places where Giacomo Leopardi spent his youth in the little town of Recanati. The programme schedules a guided “Leopardian” itinerary around the town through the famous Torre del Passero Solitario, Piazzetta del Sabato del Villaggio, house of beloved Silvia, Colle dell’Infinito, the house where the poet was born and the amazing Biblioteca in Leopardi’s house. Moreover, the path will take you to immerse yourself in the same sweet landscapes that saw the naissance and growth of the great poet Leopardi. And then you will reach an Historical house built between the 17th and the 18th century, where you will enjoy the exclusiveness that this kind of accommodation provides.
SECOND DAY IN RECANATI: THE MASTERPIECES OF LORENZO LOTTO AND ARISTOCRATIC VINEYARDS
The itinerary will propose you to discover the “chef d’oeuvres” of another extraordinary artist, the Venetian painter Lorenzo Lotto. You will visit Villa Colloredo Mels, the museum that hosts the Lotto’s main works ranging from one of his early masterpieces such as the Altarpiece of San Domenico to the fascinating Transfiguration, influenced by Rafael but with a total anti-classical setting, ending with the unforgettable Annunciation, an absolute masterpiece by the Master. The journey will continue along the footprints of Lotto, in the Museum-Ancient Treasure of the Holy House at Loreto. Among the different works housed in the Museum, there are nine painted by Lotto (in the period 1480-1556) which largely decorated the ancient Chapel of the Choir. Some of them were painted by Lotto in the last years of his life, before he died in the Sanctuary of Loreto as an oblate of the Holy House.
