LORETO AND ITS SANCTUARY

Loreto with its Basilica of the Holy House, an ancient place of Marian pilgrimage. Loreto is a shrine city, which houses the walls of the Holy House of Mary and the Black Madonna patron of the Aviators. The precious relic kept in the shrine has made this city a place of pilgrimage since 1319.
The sanctuary has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites for the Catholic faith for centuries, visited by approximately 200 saints and beatified persons, as well as by numerous Popes.
The route will take you to immerse yourself in the splendid City of Loreto, tucked inside the countryside of the Marche Region. It is a holy place defined by Pope John Paul II as “the true Marian heart of Christianity.” Then you will have the possibility to stay in a Convent, just few steps far from the Sanctuary.

SECOND DAY IN LORETO THROUGH ABBEYS AND CASTLES
The itinerary, of course one of the most interesting in Marche for those who seek to integrate spirituality and the arts, will propose you the ancient path that connected the Basilica of Loreto to Assisi and then to Rome. The journey, that will begin with the magnificent Abbey Santa Maria a piè di Chienti, will continue along the Chienti Valley, until the town of Camerino, an extraordinary city of art, dating from the 5th century B.C. An ensemble of Romanic abbeys and castles, built between the IX and the XII century that represents today a heritage of outstanding and unknown beauty, which we have planned for you in solution of an original tour.
After enjoying not only the atmosphere but also the cuisine from the Marche (at San Ginesio you will taste the fava bean & pecorino cheese ice cream!), you will take, like the ancient traveler, the way back.
